Otsana was once a human too, but suddenly and mysteriously went through a metamorphasis and can now change into a wolf at will. (NO she is NOT a werewolf! I REFUSE to put vampires or werewolves in my novel!). When her country exiled her, she and her twin sister ran away in search of a home. One night the two took refuge in a giant tree. The next morning, Otsana woke up in Essence, and her sister was gone.
